Punong Guro Edgar G. Sulite
1957 - 1997

Until this day I still shed a tear when I hear or talk of Punong Guro GM Edgar G. Sulite. I hope in my
lifetime I have done you justice in keeping you alive for future generations. I could never claim the title
Punong that will always be your title.

I could remember our first private lesson and how you would whisper in my ear saying “You're going to be
my next world champion” and you keep that spirit alive in me even today. Punong told the backyard group,
”I'm going to train you the Filipino way and not the American way which is like McDonald's fast food. The
Filipino way is hand feed a little at a time that way the techniques will be with you forever." Thank God you
fed each of us the Filipino way because I did not forget nor did any of my LAMECO brothers.

I never got to say goodbye to Punong and I hope that one day I will train under my master again. My
students today train from the heart and respect each other. Always appreciate the time you spend with
your master, I know I did.

Maraming Salamit,
Felix Valencia
